FAXAGE, owned and operated by EC Data Systems, Inc. in Denver, Colorado, is built from the ground up to serve the online fax needs of small to medium-sized businesses. FAXAGE offers a wide range of service options with plans ranging from $3.49 to $64.95 per month.

If you already have a fax line and want to keep your number, FAXAGE will port your number to your account. There is a one-time fee for porting your fax number to the FAXAGE system.

Sending and Receiving – Sending a fax is as easy as sending an email or uploading a file to a website. You can send word processor files, spreadsheets, scanned documents, even pictures. When a fax is received, it is automatically converted into a PDF file and that file is emailed to the authorized users you designate. You have the option of receiving your fax in a TIFF format file if you selected it in your preferences. Outbound faxing is supported to the 48 contiguous states, Hawaii and Canada.

Security – All online activity is protected by SSL encryption, just like your online banking. Faxes received by email can be protected by use of a secure download link, encrypted email, or PGP key encryption if you wish. Your FAXAGE account can be configured to be HIPAA, SOX and GLB compliant.

MS Office Integration – Easy integration with Microsoft Office 2003, 2007 and 2010 is possible by following a set of clear instructions and use of a registration script provided on the company website. Once set up, you will be able to fax directly through FAXAGE from your Office applications without having to open another program.

Minutes vs. Pages – Many online fax service providers charge their customers by the page. These companies estimate it takes one minute to transmit one page. This is nearly always true for the first page, but not necessarily true for subsequent pages. That means you may be charged for a page when it only took 30 seconds to transmit. This effectively doubles your cost for that page. FAXAGE charges by the minute billed in 6-second increments after the first minute, which can result in significant savings if you send a lot of multi-page documents.
