MaxEmail Review

MaxEmail (www.maxemail.com) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Integrated Global Concepts, Inc., located in Chicago, Illinois. IGC was formed in 1992 by the engineering team at the Matshushita Graphic Communications Systems US Facsimile and Scanner Division. The group developed the eFax.com network and maintained that network until August 2001. MaxEmail.com has been a Better Business Bureau accredited business since September, 2008.

MaxEmail offers four service plans with prices ranging from $2.00 per month (billed as $24.00 per year) to $104.50 per month. There are many pricing options and volume discounts available.

Common Features – All four plans offer unique phone numbers, voicemail, voicemail to email, send fax by email, send fax via web, 30 days of online storage, web-based access to account and to stored faxes, and fax to email in either PDF or TIF format. All four plans feature a fixed number of inbound faxes included in the monthly price.

All plans pay varying rates for calls placed outside the United States. A rate chart is available on the website.

Distinctive Features – The Corporate Lite and the Corporate plans offer multi-user accounts. These accounts have their own separate logins and passwords to enhance security. The Corporate Lite plan comes with 3 included phone numbers, the Corporate plan has 10 included phone numbers.

Both of the Lite and the Plus plan allow unused incoming pages to roll over, which is an uncommon feature among online fax services. These two plans also have a one-time activation fee of $10.00. The corporate plans have no activation fee.

The Lite Non-Local and both Corporate plans feature pay-as-you-go outbound faxing. There are no included outbound fax pages in these three plans. Instead, you pay 5 to 10 cents per page for outbound faxes to numbers in the United States. There are special volume deals for broadcast faxing.

The Plus plan includes 100 outbound fax pages, and is the only plan to include outbound pages as part of the plan.

Porting Existing Numbers – If you have an existing fax number that you wish to use with the MaxEmail system, you have two options. You can forward the number to a MaxEmail-assigned number, or you may be able to have the number ported (transferred) to MaxEmail.

Forwarding the incoming fax calls to a MaxEmail number allows you to use the phone line for other outbound calling purposes if you wish. It also means you have to continue to pay for the line.

Porting the number to MaxEmail means you can eliminate the cost of the phone line. Customers who have ported numbers to MaxEmail retain full rights to numbers they have ported in, and may take them back at any time.
