Popfax Introduces App for Mobile Faxing
Popfax, a global provider of Internet fax services, has introduced a new Android app that turns a mobile phone into a fax machine. Called Popcompanion mobile, the unified messaging application allows any Android mobile device to send and receive fax documents. According to a company statement, the new Android application incorporates all the features and faxing options of the Popfax service.
Available for free, Popcompanion mobile makes it possible for Popfax subscribers to access, view, send and receive faxes directly from their smart phones. Popcompanion mobile works in unison with a customer’s online account. With the app, Popfax subscribers also can download and forward faxes to another fax number or an email address, personalize faxes with a cover page, and manage personal contacts and folders. Using the app, for example, a person can scan, take a photo, or download a document and fax it instantly to one or more people.
The app also enables Popfax customers to send and receive SMS texts and voice messages from their Android mobile device. Vladimir Popesco, managing director of Popfax.com, said the company developed the mobile app to give businesses an on-the-go unified messaging solution that is available 24/7.
Popcompanion mobile is available to download from the Popfax website at www.popfax.com or from the Android marketplace. The company expects the application to be available on other mobile platforms, including iPhone and Blackberry, in the near future.
