TrustFax Review

TrustFax (www.trustfax.com) is a service of Data On Call, Inc, which is owned by j2 Global Communications, Inc., with offices in California, Ireland and Hong Kong. j2 Global owns an impressive array of online fax and data services including eFax, Send2Fax, RapidFax and Fax.com.

Built for Small Business – TrustFax is designed with the home office or small business user in mind. There is only one pricing plan. For $8.95 per month ($7.46 per month when paid annually) you get 250 combined inbound and outbound fax pages per month. Additional page are billed at 10 cents per page. There is a 1 cent per fax per month storage fee for faxes stored in the TrustFax system over 30 days (the FAQ section says it is a 5 cent fee).

No Frills, No Risk, No Fee – TrustFax is a basic online fax system that provides what most people need in a low-cost package. There is no setup fee, and you can try TrustFax for 30 days for free. To do so requires you to provide your credit card information in advance. After 30 days you will be billed.

Pick Your Number – You can select a local phone number or a toll-free number at no extra charge. Although porting of existing fax numbers is mentioned in the user agreement, it is not mentioned anywhere on the website, nor is an option to port in an existing fax number offered during the registration process.

Sending and Receiving – You can easily send a fax to any fax number in the US or Canada by either sending an email, or using the TrustFax web portal. You can fax to over 200 international locations for an additional fee. You can attach files from one of a dozen file formats, including MS Word, PDF, JPEG and GIF. Faxes sent to you are saved in a PDF file. You can log on and retrieve the file using the web-based system, or you can choose to have the file attached to an email and sent to you.

Unlimited Senders – You may link as many email addresses for outbound faxing to your account as you wish. This will speed up the use of your 250 monthly pages. If your office faxes a lot, you may wish to add accounts instead of paying the overage fees. You can also add one additional email address for inbound faxes. Your inbound faxes can then be available using the web-based portal, and both of the email addresses. You will want to check your settings in the online account manager to make sure they match your needs.
